I grew something...

Finally something in my "garden" is growing. I put that in quotations because I don't really have much in the garden, it is more like a rock bed. We were given a rose stick this year, so I planted it expecting it to die like everything else I planted. But to my surprise it started getting leaves, and then yesterday I noticed a bud on it. I am really proud of my self that I managed to actually grow something other than a weed. I hope you all enjoy my rose bud as much as I do!

The 4th and what not

We didn't really do much on the actually 4th this year. Which is fine, I got to see some fireworks and that always makes me happy. We were over in Appleton and my parents live close to lake Winnebago so we went by the lake and could see 5 different towns having fireworks displays all at the same time. It was pretty cool to watch them all from a far.

Then on Saturday we went boating with a couple of friends in Oshkosh. We had a blast! I didn't get sun burn but Dan did a little. Even though he put sunscreen on several times. The day was absolutely perfect to be out on the water. Not a cloud in the sky and the river/lake was pretty calm considering how many people were out.
Then of course there is Darren, who is growing leaps and bounds now. Crawling so fast that I can't keep up with him. We got out is walking toy but he isn't really sure how it works yet. I love the jabbering too. It doesn't make sense right now but it will soon.

weekend events...

Darren went to his first ladies event with my on Saturday. He was loving the attention, even thought the attention was to be on his Aunt Traci. After Traci's bridal shower was over we went swimming. My baby is a little fish. He loves the water and swimming at Grampa and GiGi's house. He has been over there a few times since the weather has gotten nice. Every time we swim he gets braver about the water. I think that I get tired, before he does of being in the pool.

We took a group picture of all the cousins that were there. It was fun having other babies around Darren. He was very curious about them as you can see he is watching them in this picture. I also wanted to put a picture up of Dan and Darren so you can see how much Darren looks like his Daddy.

Dan also had a baseball thing this past weekend. Last year the team that he coached won state and went to a national regional tournament in Minnesota. They had a ceremony on Friday for his team. They got state championship rings and the whole nine yards. So here is a few pictures from that.

We found a jersey for Darren with Dan's number on it so of course we had to buy it...
